Common Questions
1. What is the Clearfield Commitment Fee?
Clearfield® growers must sign a Clearfield Commitment when they purchase their seed. This Commitment is an agreement between growers and BASF that outlines both parties’ responsibilities and serves as an annual license to access the benefits of Clearfield technology. In 2008, BASF implemented a new Clearfield Commitment for Clearfield canola and sunflowers. It includes a fee equivalent to $30/bag of Clearfield canola seed and $3/acre on Clearfield sunflowers.
