How it works
- POLYRAM DF has a unique low dust, dry flowable granule that dissolves rapidly yet delivers excellent sticking power on the leaf surface.
- In potatoes, POLYRAM DF has an exceptionally broad spectrum of activity that controls late blight (including A1 and A2 strains) as well as early blight.
- POLYRAM DF contains 14.4% zinc, significantly more than any other blight fungicide.
- Zinc is a key element in photosynthesis, which keeps plant foliage greener, healthier and more resistant to disease.Zinc also improves fruit finish.
When to apply
Apples
- For apple scab, cedar apple rust, and apple quince rust apply POLYRAM DF in regular protective schedule from green tip up to 45 days before harvest.
- For powdery mildew, apply POLYRAM DF and either Benlate 50W or Nova 40W in a regular spray program, starting from green tip and continuing throughout the season.
- Do not apply later than 45 days before harvest.
Potatoes
- Early application should be considered if early or late blight was present in your growing area or if weather conditions are conducive to early or late blight infection.
- Apply at 0.44 to 0.7 kg/ac (1.1 to 1.75 kg/ha) on 7 to 10-day intervals until plants cover the row then apply 0.9 kg/ac (2.25 kg/ha) until top kill; or use the 0.44 to 0.7 kg/ac (1.1 to 1.75 kg/ha) rate at 5 to 7-day intervals starting when plants are 15 cm high and continuing until top killing.
- When conditions favour infections, use the shorter intervals in each scenario. May be applied up to the day before harvest.
Tomatoes
- For early blight, late blight and gray leaf spot apply POLYRAM DF at 0.9 kg/ac (2.25 kg/ha) when the first fruit has formed and repeat at spot intervals of 7-10 days.
- Apply every 7 days when weather is conducive to disease or in case of severe disease outbreak.
- Do not apply later than 7 days before harvest.
- For anthracnose, septoria and leaf spot, apply POLYRAM DF at 1.3 kg/ac (3.25 kg/ha) when first fruit has formed and repeat at 7-day intervals.
- Do not apply later than 7 days before harvest.
Asparagus
- Apply 0.9 to 1.3 kg/ac (2.25 to 3.25 kg/ha) after harvest at first sign of disease.
- Make four applications at 7 to 10-day intervals.
- Do not apply to spears to be cut.
Carrot
- Apply at 0.9 kg/ac (2.25 kg/ha) when plants are 6 weeks old or when disease threatens, repeating treatment every 7 to 10 days.
- Do not use treated tops for feed or food.
- Do not apply later than 7 days before harvest.
Celery
- Apply 0.9 kg/ac (2.25 kg/ha) after transplanting and repeat at weekly intervals as needed.
- Increase rates to 1.3 kg/ac (3.25 kg/ha) when heavy rain or dews occur.
- Trim, strip and wash celery at harvest.
- Do not apply later than 14 days before harvest.
Sugar Beets
- Apply 0.9 kg/ac (2.25 kg/ha) POLYRAM DF at first sign of disease and repeat at 7 to 10-day intervals, depending on weather conditions.
- Do not apply later than 21 days before harvest and do not use treated beet tops for feed or food purposes.
Grapes
- Apply 2 kg/1000 L water in pre-bloom, post-bloom and first cover sprays.
- Do not make more than three applications per season.
- Do not apply later than 45 days before harvest.
How much to apply
Apples
- For apple scab, cedar apple rust and apple quince rust, apply 2.4 kg/ac (6 kg/ha). Reduce to 1.8 kg/ac (4.5 kg/ha) after second cover spray if scab pressure is low in the orchard.
- For powdery mildew and apple scab, apply 1.2 kg/ac (3 kg/ha) mixed with 0.2 kg of Benlate 50W per hectare (0.5 kg/ha) or 0.136 kg/ac (0.34 kg/ha) of Nova 40W.
Potatoes
- For early and late blight, apply from 0.44 to 0.7 kg/ac (1.10 to 1.75 kg/ha), depending on timing. See label for maximum rates.
Tomatoes
- For early blight, late blight and gray leaf spot, apply 0.9 kg/ac (2.25 kg/ha).
- For septoria, anthracnose and grey leaf spot, apply 1.3 kg/ac (3.25 kg/ha).
Asparagus
- Apply 0.9 to 1.3 kg/ac (2.25 to 3.25 kg/ha) for control of rust.
Celery
- For early and late blight, apply 0.9 to 1.3 kg/ac (2.25 to 3.25 kg/ha).
Carrot
- For alternaria blight or cercospora blight, apply 0.9 kg/ac (2.25 kg/ha).
Sugar Beets
- For cercospora leaf spot, apply 0.9 kg/ac (2.25 kg/ha).
Grapes
- For downy mildew or black rot, apply 2 kg per 1,000 litres of water.
Mixing instructions
Apples
- POLYRAM DF can be tank-mixed with Nova 40W and Benlate fungicide 50W for control of apple scab and powdery mildew.
- POLYRAM DF is compatible with most commonly used insecticides, adjuvants and fungicides.
- Mixtures of POLYRAM DF with diazinon or malathion should be prepared immediately prior to use and not allowed to stand in the spray tank.
- POLYRAM DF can be mixed with liquid fertilizers after a physical compatibility test has been conducted. Apply solution immediately after mixing. Opened bags should be sealed if stored until the following season.
