How it works
- FLAXMAX DLX is a tank-mix that combines the stopping power of two effective herbicides:
1. One stops cell growth and erodes the growing points of the plant.
2. The other contains two different chemicals that are primarily absorbed through the leaves and control broadleaf weeds, causing yellowing and abnormalities and stopping growth.
When to apply
FLAXMAX DLX has a wide window of application so you can control early-emerging weeds before they affect yield.
| Application Timing |
|---|
| Flax | 2-6 inches (5-15 cm) tall |
| Broadleaf Weeds | 2- to 4-true-leaf stage† |
| Grassy Weeds | 1- to 6-true-leaf stage, up to 3 tillers |
†Treatments made to broadleaf weeds after the 4-leaf stage may result in less than satisfactory control.
How much to apply
- Each case of FLAXMAX DLX contains enough herbicide to treat 20 acres.
- The surfactant MERGE® is required for herbicide activity and is included in the packaging. No additional MERGE Adjuvant is required.
- Always ensure that the rate of MERGE is 0.5 L/100 L of spray solution (0.5% spray solution) for optimal performance.
For example:
| Acres | Water required | MERGE required | FLAXMAX required |
|---|
| 20 acres | 10 imp. gallons/acre | 1 x 8.1 L jug | 1 case |
Mixing Instructions
- Fill spray tank half full with clean water. Start agitation system
- Add the correct amount of FLAXMAX herbicide.
- Add the correct amount of EQUINOX® herbicide.
- Add the correct amount of MERGE adjuvant, along with the remaining
- After filling, continue agitation.
- After any break in the spraying operation, agitate thoroughly before spraying again. Do not allow the mixture to sit overnight.
- Immediately after use, thoroughly clean the sprayer by rinsing it with clean water.
Application tips
- FLAXMAX DLX should be applied when temperatures are below 28°C. When the temperature is higher than this, plants are not usually actively growing and some crop injury may result.
- Spray in the evening if high temperatures persist.
- To get the best results, apply FLAXMAX DLX based on broadleaf weed staging.
- It is very important to apply at the 2- to 4-leaf stage of annual broadleaf weeds.
- The time required between application of FLAXMAX DLX and rain is six hours in order to be most effective.
- Apply FLAXMAX DLX herbicide tank-mix with a water volume of 40 L/acre.
- For optimum spray coverage, use a spray pressure of 35-40 psi (240-275 kPa) and tilt flat fan nozzles at a 45° angle forward.
- In some cases "Sleepy Flax" may result. This visual symptom is only temporary and will not result in a yield reduction.
